The trouble began exactly one year ago, when the letters started to mysteriously appear. The first threatened to kill a Toronto teacher and her newborn baby.
Over the next six months, more death threats appeared around Perth Avenue Junior Public School, threatening to bomb the school, shoot two teachers, and kill the principal. Security was tightened, surveillance cameras installed, and ultimately, a teacher was transferred and two staff members went on stress leave.
The threats also terrorized the community, with the intimidating letters mailed to hundreds of homes in the area, near Dupont St. and Dundas St. W.
