MISSISSAUGA–Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion showed she could keep pace with runners decades younger than her during the Olympic torch relay Saturday morning.
Flanked by hundreds of onlookers, the 88-year-old mayor jogged with the torch for about 400 metres before passing it to the next torchbearer.
The torch is making its way through a number of communities in the Greater Toronto Area today, including Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, and Milton.
Kayaker Adam van Koeverden, a medallist at the past two Summer Olympics, will carry the flame in Oakville.
The flame's final destination on day 51 of its cross-country journey is Hamilton.
